A Catholic School Principal Prepares For First-Pitch Duty At Phillies' Game
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The principal of Nazareth Academy High School in Northeast Philadelphia is throwing out the first pitch tonight at the Phillies' game.
As a high school principal, Sister Mary Joan Jacobs tells the girls who attend her school that anything is possible -- and tonight she plans to prove it.
"I'm happy to represent Nazareth," she says. "I'm excited. I'm a little nervous. I've never done this before. But as Tug McGraw says, you gotta believe!"

How did she prepare?
"Well, I had our two star freshman pitchers who brought us the fifth consecutive Academy League championship this year -- Taylor and Brianna -- show me to put my foot forward, arch the ball, move back and throw."

And she says she plans to wear her habit.
"Oh, without a doubt. What else would I be in?"
...although she is adding a Phillies t-shirt.
A contingent of 700 people from the Nazareth community will be at the game to watch.
