The 14 Callers On 94WIP Who Want Chip Kelly Fired
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Eagles lost by 11 points, on the road, on Sunday night, against an undefeated Carolina Panthers team falling to 3-4 heading into their Week 8 bye. There's only one thing to do, of course.
FIRE CHIP KELLY!
Hahaha---haha---ha----ha? Wait, why aren't you laughing? You don't seriously want Kelly fired....do you?
After gaining personnel control and overhauling the roster this Spring, despite back-to-back 10-6 seasons to start his NFL coaching career, Kelly has an unfathomable short leash among the fan base. So short, that a record 14 people called for the firing of Kelly on Monday's Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show, beginning at 6:11am!
Listen: Callers want Kelly fired on 94WIP Morning Show
Take a look at what the 14 crazy angry callers said, in order.
1. Derek
"Chip Kelly he needs to go. His press conference is like he's talking about a college team. He's always placing blame on everyone else."
2. Tom
"This guy he's got to go! Marcus Smith couldn't play. Didn't I tell you that a year? Nelson Agholor -- the guy can't even get on the field, when he gets on the field he drops everything. [Jordan Matthews] stinks! He can't play, he doesn't run the right patterns, he turns around when he shouldn't turn around.
"Are you kidding me? Last night was a clear cut that he does not know what he's doing?"
3. Santos
"Chip Kelly gotta go! He makes bad decisions. 3rd-and-9 and he throws a screen? He's an arrogant dude---he's a freakin' college coach."
4. Pete
"All we heard about was changing the culture. The old culture had two winning seasons. Jordan Matthews lead the SEC in all-time receptions, now he hears footsteps every time he catches the ball."
5. Brian
"We should blame Jeff Lurie man. I'm sick and tired of Chip Kelly, come on."
6. Antoine
"Bradford is throwing Ricky Watters balls. He's throwing for who, for what.
"Kelly can kick rocks on a railroad track."
7. Dan
"Chip has gotten out coached all year long! Angelo, this is sad. It's really beginning to be a pain in the behind!"
8. Fitz
"At the end of the day, Chip Kelly shot himself in the foot in the beginning of the season by getting rid of the people that he got rid of, period.
"He has to go man. He has to go. I'm sorry."
9. Lillian
"This is my point. I just totally think that Chip Kelly is in complete denial. There is no way after watching that game that this is a great or a good--none of those things go towards this team.
"I'm sick of this. I'm sick of everything about it! I can't take no more!"
10. Arnie
"What do Riley Cooper, Josh Huff, and Miles Austin all have in common? They freakin' stink! These guys suck!
"I'm saying that I just do like Chip Kelly. This coach ain't blending in. I don't like him personally. I would hope that Jeffrey Lurie, when the season ends, get rid of this guy."
11. Jack
"I had a wait and see attitude with this guy when he first came...but I think I've seen enough with this guy."
"He's gonna leave this year anyway. They're lucky if they win seven games!"
12. Israel
"I want him out of here! Chip Kelly the GM is killing Chip Kelly the coach."
13. Sean
"We need a change, Angelo. I want him to leave. You can let him finish out this season, but after this season I think it's time for a change."
14. Ray
"Personally yes, I want him to leave. I was extremely disappointed this morning when he said he's not gonna make changes."
As for myself, I'm one of Kelly's biggest supporters. And while the 3-4 start has certainly been a harrowing experience, Eagles fans could be singing a totally different tune after the team's next four games (at Dal, MIA, TB, at Det).
Or, maybe, the Chip Ship is actually sinking.
