Sixers G Richardson Will Have Surgery On Knee; Will Miss Rest Of Season
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia 76ers guard Jason Richardson will have surgery on his left knee and will miss the rest of the 2012-13 season.
The team made the announcement on Friday afternoon.
While no date is set for the procedure, the Sixers say Dr. Jonathan Glashow of Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York will perform the surgery.
Richardson started 33 games for the Sixers this season, averaging 10.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.21 steals in 28.4 minutes per game. He recorded 40 steals with just 26 turnovers and would rank third in the NBA in steal-to-turnover ratio (1.54) if he qualified.
