69-Year-Old Man Shot In West Philadelphia Speaks Out

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- "The bullet hit me in the back. The other one came through my back, through my arm," described Ronald Washington.
The 69-year-old was shot on Friday night near the corner of 41st and Parrish Streets in West Philadelphia.
"Could be worse, I could be worse, but I feel pretty good," said Washington.
Washington also says that the night that he was shot, he was on his way to the store to grab a hoagie.
"The store was closed, so I came back around the corner," said Washington. "By the time I got to the middle block, I heard gun shots in back of me, so I tried to move."
He didn't move fast enough to avoid the bullets. Two of them knocked him right off of his motorized scooter.
Another innocent bystander, 81-year-old James Hollis, was shot in the head and remains in intensive care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
On New Year's Day, Washington was released and returned to his apartment at the Sarah Allen Senior Home in West Philadelphia.
He continues to keep a smile on his face and says he forgives the person who shot him.
"No use in me carrying a grudge like that for the rest of my life, because of somebody else's dumbness."
Police have no leads and are considering offering a reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
