5 Injured, Dozens Stranded In Pennsylvania Ski Lift Accident
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Five people were injured and dozens more were left stranded after a ski lift accident at a central Pennsylvania resort.
It happened Saturday at Tussey Mountain, about 80 miles northwest of Harrisburg.
Ski resort officials say a ski lift malfunctioned, sending one chair sliding into the chair behind it and causing a domino effect.
Emergency responders used ropes to rescue about 50 people, some who were left dangling for more than one hour.
There is still no word on what caused the malfunction.
