5 Fantasy Football Buy-Low Players

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- We're two weeks into the NFL season and you're fantasy football team is missing something. You can't put your finger on what, but you want to make a trade. I got you. Here's five players you should try to acquire this week, while their value is low.

5. Marques Colston

Colston hasn't had less than 70 receptions and 900 yards since 2008, and only twice in his career did he have less than 1,000 yards receiving. In addition, he's averaged about eight touchdowns per season and played 14 or more games in every season except one. He's one of the most consistent and reliable wide outs in the NFL and he plays on one of the best passing offenses.

However, you can Colston for cheap today. After snagging five catches for 110 yards in week 1, Colston had a fluky zero-target, zero-catch game in week 2. Not sure why, but I expected him to get back to his old ways in week 3 at home against the Vikings and continue to produce going forward.

4. Shane Vereen

Vereen had 47 catches in only eight games with the Patriots last season. That's about six catches per game, for you math wizards. This season, after a predictable five-catch week 1 performance, Vereen was target-less in week 2 for unknown reasons, and the Patriots passing game struggled. The Pats have a below average receiving corps, so look for Vereen's role in the passing attack to grow.

And still, on the ground, Vereen has 76 yards and a touchdown this season. Plus, he's one Stevan Ridley fumble away from becoming the featured back.

3. Vincent Jackson

Josh McCown and Tampa Bay's passing offense has been awful, averaging a second-to-worst in the NFL 169 passing yards per game. As a result, Jackson's numbers are naturally down. Nevertheless, Jackson has still managed to compile eight catches on 16 targets for 87 yards. Not much, but he's clearly their No. 1 weapon on offense and keep in my mind, the Bucs have played against Carolina and St. Louis---both of whom are top-12 defenses with dominating defensive fronts.

Also, Mike Glennon is waiting patiently in the wings for McCown to lose his job, which, if you ask me, if a good thing for Jackson and the Bucs' passing game.

2. Drew Brees

Brees is struggling early, but no way that continues. He's too talented and the New Orleans' offense is too potent. And by struggling I mean he has 570 yards passing, completing 68.3% of his passes, in two games. Only three touchdowns to two interceptions has kept his fantasy points down.

If you can acquire Brees for cheap, go for it.

1. Eddie Lacy

Lacy was a projected top-five fantasy pick, but after two games, he has just 77 rushing yards on 25 carries (3.1 YPC) and zero scores. However, the Packers have faced the Seahawks in Seattle and the Jets, two of the best---if not the best---run defenses in all of football. The Pack has been trailing a lot too, so they've been throwing more than they want to.

Go get Lacy.
