PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There has been another guilty plea in the case of a West Philadelphia abortion clinic, an alleged scene of mass murder of fetuses.
Stephen Massof, 49, pleaded guilty today to two counts of third-degree murder and conspircy, admitting that he took part in the murder of late-term babies born alive and then allegedly murdered by lead defendant Dr. Kermit Gosnell.
In one case, Massof -- who worked as an unlicensed doctor -- told authorities he was assisting Gosnell in abortions when he saw the baby jerk and move. And in another case, he says, the baby breathed before Dr. Gosnell severed the baby's spine at the back of the neck with scissors.
Massof, who is in custody, will be sentenced later.
This was the fourth guilty plea, and another is expected next week. Gosnell, who has pleaded not guilty, and four other defendants are currently awaiting trial.
