47 Syringes Discovered On Atlantic County Beach
VENTNOR, N.J. (CBS) -- Medical waste that was improperly disposed of has been discovered on a New Jersey beach.
On Monday morning, a jogger found several hypodermic needles and syringes scattered on a dune of the beach in Ventnor.
Police say 47 syringes were discovered between Cambridge and Dorset Avenues but investigators do not believe they washed ashore from the Ocean.
The Atlantic County Health Department came out to inspect the area and determined the beach can stay open.
Police are trying to trace the source of the waste. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ventnor police.
