Google Introducing Self-Sorting Tabs For E-Mail Inbox

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you feel overwhelmed by your inbox, you might like the new feature that Google will offer on its popular e-mail service.
We're used to tabs on browsers for flipping through web pages. Now, Gmail is sorting your messages into tabs.
There's "Social," which collects Twitter, Facebook, and notifications from other networks; "Promotions," for Groupon, Living Social, and the like. Another tab compiles the receipts and order updates from your online shopping excursions.
Google says the "Primary" tab will display your most important e-mails.
In the next few weeks, the categories will appear on desktop versions of Gmail and on Gmail's apps for Android and iOS.
To become an early adopter, Google says, "Keep an eye on the Gear menu and select 'Configure inbox' when it appears in the Settings options."
