4 Charged In Costly Vandalism At Bucks County Park
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) - Three men and one juvenile will be arrested and charged with causing extensive damage to a park in Bucks County earlier this year.
Max Rosen, 18, of Newtown Township, Colin O'Neal, 19, of Washington Crossing, Jacob Grussenmeyer, 20, of Northampton Township and an unnamed juvenile, 17, of Newtown Township will be charged for the vandalism that took place at Roberts Ridge Park on May 31st.
The investigation began when Newtown Township Police Department responded to a report of vandalism at the park. As police arrived at the scene, they discovered extensive damage within the park.
Approximately 29 separate holes were kicked or otherwise caused penetrating the four exterior walls of the restroom structure. Three exterior doors were torn from the hinges and an aluminum gutter was torn from the soffit portion of the structure. A stainless steel exhaust fan, along with the venting pipes, were crushed and dented. The roof-mounted solar panels were cracked and roof shingles were torn from the restroom structure. Roofing shingles were also torn from the pavilion structure and some of the picnic tables in the pavilion were bent or otherwise damaged. Benches within the park were bent or otherwise damaged. Playground equipment, specifically a Little Tikes swing seat and Little Tikes flagpole, were completely broken off their bases. Also, the wooden "Roberts Ridge" sign was broken at its base.
The total damage is estimated to be approximately $20,000.
All four are being charged with criminal mischief to a public building, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, littering and conspiracy to commit each of these charges.
The four are scheduled to appear on court on Monday.
