Fire Destroys Chester County Home

EAST BRADFORD, Pa. (CBS) – A Chester County home was destroyed during an early morning house fire.
The fire broke out inside a home in the 900 block of Brandywine Avenue in East Bradford.
According to fire officials, a husband and his wife were awoken by smoke alarms and they were able to safely escape the home with their two dogs.
Firefighters initially had a tough time battling the blaze because the nearest fire hydrant was approximately a mile away. They had to truck water into the fire scene.
The fire was placed under control at about 2:45 a.m. Fire officials say the home was a complete loss.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
