35h Annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show Is This Week
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The 35h Annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show takes place this week. It is the museum's largest fundraiser of the year.
The craft show will be at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from November 10th through the 13th.
"This is an event for everyone to come to and see fabulous art, handmade, one-of-a-kind objects. The artists have been working hard all year long because they've gotten into the show," says Show Manager Nancy O'Meara.
After more than 1,300 artists applied, only 195 were accepted. Their work of ceramics, jewelry, furniture and much more will be on display and for sale.
Over the years the museum has raised over $9.5-million through the show, funding various aspects of the museum including the "Form in Art' Program, according to Craft Show Chair Reid Bodek.
"It's a program for blind and visually impaired people. They come every Friday. They love to come here. They make creations based on current exhibitions."
