Organization Helps Kids' Halloween Dreams
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Main Line girl who started an organization to match children with gently used Halloween costumes was on hand Thursday to watch children from the John Wister School in Germantown pick out their costumes.
There was no shortage of smiles.
Amadou is in the 4th grade:
"I picked out a pirate. He has a pirate hand and a sword and a headband and all different kind of stuff."
Aleah: "A witch!"
Michelle Durham: "She has orange hair!"
Aleah: (laughs) "I know."
Michelle: "So you are going to have orange hair for Halloween?"
Aleah: "Yes!"
This is the day that Halloween Helpers founder -- 13-year-old Emma Rose Shapiro -- waited for.
"We have cheerleaders, vampires, princesses and superheroes and they all love them!"
And Wister School Lead Teacher Melissa says the smiles are contagious.
"Some of the kids who never smile, that never talk or are mean to other kids, they were helping, picking out costumes for other kids. It was really heart touching."
