3 Students Charged In New Jersey School Bomb Threats
HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J., (CBS) – Three juvenile students have been charged in bomb threats made at two schools in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, officials announced Friday.
Authorities say there has been an ongoing investigation into six separate bomb threats at Delaware Valley Regional High School and Alexandria Middle School between December 13, 2012 and May 15, 2013.
"At this time, three juveniles have been charged in a complaint for juvenile delinquency for Creating a False Public Alarm in three of the incidents. The other three cases are still under investigation," said Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III in a statement released Friday.
Authorities say the arrests were made in two incidents that occurred at Delaware Valley Regional High School on March 13, 2013 and May 1, 2013 and an incident at Alexandria Middle School on May 15, 2013.
In addition to the criminal charges, the students involved also face discipline and sanctions from the school district which includes possible expulsion, said Kearns.
Authorities continue to investigate two incidents at Delaware Valley Regional High School that occurred on December 13, 2012 and February 19, 2013. An incident at Alexandria Middle School that occurred on February 13, 2013 is also still under investigation.
