3 On Your Side Recall Round-Up: Airbags, Granola Products & Mattress Pads
By Jim Donovan
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Dangerous products that put your family at risk. It's time for this week's 3 On Your Side recall roundup.
First up, more airbags are being recalled. Ford needs to replace 1.9 million faulty passenger-side front air bags. Certain Takata air bags can inflate with too much force and spew shrapnel into the vehicles.
The vehicles involved in this recall affected the 2007-2010 Ford Edge, 2006-2011 Ford Fusion 2005-2011 Ford Mustang 2007-2011 and Ford Ranger 2007-2010, plus models of the Lincoln MKX, Lincoln MKZ , Lincoln Zephyr and the Mercury Milan.
Ford will notify customers and replace the air bags for free.
Next up, granola concerns.
Kashi is recalling some of its granola products. Sunflower kernels that were used in the foods are possibly contaminated with listeria.
The recall involves Kashi trail mix chewy granola bars and pouches of Bear Naked soft baked granola, cinnamon + sunflower butter. The products have best buy dates of January of 2017. Discard the products and call Kashi for a full refund.
Finally, mattress pad problems.
Wamsutta is recalling 4,700 cotton mattress pads for failing to meet federal flammability standards, posing a fire hazard. All sizes of the Wamsutta Dream Zone Cotton 800 thread count mattress pads are involved.
They were made from August of 2015 through January of 2016 and were sold by Bed Bath and Beyond in stores and on its website for between $110 and $170 dollars.
Stop using these covers and contact the manufacturer for a full refund.
