3 Injured Jumping To Safety From Burning Home In Norristown

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Three residents were injured after they were forced to jump out of their home during a fire in Montgomery County early Tuesday morning.
The fire started at about 3:30 a.m. inside a two-story home in the 900 block of Yerkes Avenue in Norristown.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they encountered heavy smoke and flames billowing from the home.
Firefighters were able to place the blaze under control in approximately 45 minutes.
Three residents inside the home were forced to escape by jumping out windows on the upper floor.
One person was treated for smoke inhalation, while a second individual suffered a broken shoulder. There was no immediate word on the injuries for the third resident.
No firefighters were injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
