3 Arrested In Shooting Of Overbrook Convenience Store Owner
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police have arrested three men in connection with a shooting at an Overbrook convenience store that left the owner critically injured on Tuesday morning.
Eric Floyd, 25, of Overbrook, Devron Lewis, 24, of Darby and Devin Miller, 22, of Darby have been arrested for the shooting.
According to police, two men walked into 65th Street Deli Food Market located at 6500 Lebanon Avenue at approximately 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, ordered a hoagie, and then announced a robbery.
The men shot the store owner in the head and left the store, apparently without taking any cash or goods, Lt. John Walker of the Southwest Detective Division said.
Tips from neighbors led police to Floyd, whose car matched the description of the getaway vehicle and was found parked at a Pathmark store on Marshall Road in Upper Darby. Floyd works at the grocery store and was arrested there Wednesday, Walker said.
Lewis surrendered to police on Thursday morning and Miller turned himself in Thursday evening. Miller and Lewis were both inside the store at the time of the shooting, but it was unclear which one fired at the clerk, Walker said.
The victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was listed in critical condition as of late Thursday night.
All three are being charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, violation of the uniform firearms act (VUFA), criminal conspiracy, robbery and related offenses.
Miller has an additional charge of attempted murder. Floyd and Lewis have an additional charge of attempted criminal homicide.
The three are in police custody and awaiting a preliminary court appearance.
