2nd Man Sentenced For Role In Deadly Home Invasion In Huntingdon Valley
HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa. (CBS) -- A second man is sentenced for his role in a deadly home invasion in Huntingdon Valley last fall.
Prosecutors say the ringleader – who got a life-sentence yesterday - rounded up a group of men in an effort to get back at his ex-girlfriend's family.
Twenty-year-old Abdurrahman Amin is sentenced to 15-30 years in prison.
He pleaded guilty to 3rd degree murder days into the trial this summer. His attorney argued for a lesser sentence, saying Amin stayed downstairs as the rest of the group charged up the steps of the Philmont Avenue home, eventually shooting and killing 53-year-old Kevin Brown.
Prosecutor Tom McGoldrick disputes Amin's limited role, but says if it were true, it wouldn't matter.
"Even if you the lookout for instance, and you stay outside, you're still guilty of second degree murder, you're still guilty of participating in that home invasion."
Brown is remembered as a family man, a mentor, and youth football coach. His wife, Cassandra Brock calls him her hero, as he held the men off long enough for her to escape.
This sentence comes one day after Naadir Abdul Ali was sentenced to life in prison, plus 10-20 years as prosecutors say he was the orchestrator.
