Second Fire At Same Delaware Home In 8 Days Ruled Arson

BEAR, Del. (CBS) -- The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office has determined a fire that destroyed a home in Delaware Wednesday morning was intentionally set.
It is the second fire at the same home in less than two weeks.
The fire started at about 5 a.m. at a home on Saratoga Court in Bear, New Castle County.
According to fire officials, approximately three dozen firefighters were involved in battling the blaze. Despite their efforts, the home is a total loss. Damage to the residence is estimated at about $200,000.
Fortunately, the two residents living inside the home were able to safely escape, although the family dog perished in the fire.
State fire investigators were called to the scene and determined the fire to be arson. The investigation by The State Fire Marshal's Office is ongoing.
Fire officials say this is the second time that a fire has hit the home in eight days. The first fire was quickly extinguished.
