Mark Wahlberg On Young Singer: 'Truly The Voice Of An Angel'

A young boy of the Keystone Boys Choir wowed a crowd of thousands with his performance at the Festival of Families in Philadelphia in September. He told CBS 3 he didn't know he was going to sing until five minutes before. Before leaving the stage, he exchanged gifts with Pope Francis and hugged Festival of Families host Mark Wahlberg. "That right there was truly the voice of an angel," said Wahlberg.

Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia Releases "Shake It Off" Music Video

A music video from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia became a YouTube sensation this year. A rendition of Taylor Swift's song "Shake It Off", the video had more than 200,000 views on YouTube in the first days after it was posted. The video was done in honor of Child Life Month, recognizing the importance of the specialists who help sick children cope and provide emotional support to families.

Officials: Military Blimp Breaks Loose, Drifts Over Pa.

A surveillance blimp broke loose in Maryland before coming down into trees in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania in late October. The blimp floated over Pennsylvania for hours, causing electrical outages as its tether hit power lines. State police later used shotguns to deflate the wayward blimp.

Local Chef On Papal Visit: 'Didn't Need To Close Every Street, Scaring Most People'

Philadelphia put major security measures into place for the Papal visit, including the shutdown of major roads, school closures and more. One Philadelphia chef took to Facebook to share how he felt about the planning of the massive event.

Sting Rays, Portuguese Man-Of-War, Sharks -- Oh My!

The Jersey shore was a popular vacation spot this year, especially for some sea creatures. Great white shark Mary Lee enjoyed her time down the shore this summer so much, she even stopped by Ocean City in October. Sting rays were reportedly spotted in Avalon and North Wildwood, and dangerous Portuguese man-of-war washed up on the New Jersey shoreline at least twice in June.

Jersey Shore Landmark 'Lucy The Elephant' Celebrates 134 Years With Birthday Bash

Lucy the Elephant, in Margate, celebrated her 134th birthday on July 18th with an all-day party on the boardwalk. Lucy is a six-story tall elephant statue and National Historic Landmark. The proceeds raised at the event reportedly went towards upkeep and improvements.

In October, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, known as PETA, offered to help fund Lucy's $55,000 restoration project, but Lucy's Board of Trustees passed on the offer.

Congressman Who Had Permission To Take Glass – Confesses To Pope

Congressman Bob Brady tells WPHT, "I asked permission. I asked the Parliamentarian if I could take the glass and he nodded and said 'sure, it's only going to go back into the kitchen and get washed up.' I didn't swipe it. I did ask for permission and I am going to get a bill for it. So, I'm going to pay for it. With all the news about it, when I saw the Pope last night, and what a gracious, gracious man. Unbelievable. After all the time in the United States, as he's leaving, he still has time to stop and have a conversation with every person before he got on the plane. What I said to him, I don't know whether you heard or not, but I'm the Congressman that took your water glass. He said, yeah, I did hear a little bit about that through his interpreter. I said, by the way, I wanted to make an even swap, I have a flag that was flown over the United States Capitol in your honor, and I want to give that to you for the glass. He said, good, good, good swap. Bueno, bueno."

A Facebook hoax began making the rounds (again) leading some users to think that Facebook is going to start charging for photos and other content.

Revel Owner Suggests He Can Help Ease Syrian Refugee Crisis

Florida developer Glenn Straub recently had a new idea for using the shuttered Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, at least while the facility's long term future is hammered out in the courts. He's offering to shelter refugees from the civil war in Syria. As KYW Newsradio reports, Straub says he's made the offer to Presidential candidates, and contends some have gotten back to him. He declined to identify any of them. But he doesn't expect the offer to be seriously considered until candidates emerge from the primaries.
