2014 Farmers' Almanac Predicts Big Storm Due Super Bowl Weekend

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 2014 Farmers' Almanac just released its prediction of a big storm due February 1st through the 3rd -- which coincides with the first-ever cold weather Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl is taking place on February 2nd; which means North Jersey could be in for a super mess!
But, this is where you start to play the averages. I looked at climate data for February 2, 2014 in Newark, New Jersey -- just a few miles from MetLife Stadium -- and over the last 47 years of Super Bowl championships, high temperatures have ranged anywhere from 57 degrees to 16. The data averages out to about 40 degrees for that date and many of those days actually FELT more like the freezing mark with the typical winter wind howling up to 20 mph!
Bottom line, the weather is a coin toss -- only about five percent of the days over those 47 years had measurable snowfall. And all the moving pieces of the atmosphere would need to line up for a big storm over East Rutherford, New Jersey.
So I'd personally still stock up on winter gear in my team colors if I actually manage to score tickets to this one!
