2014 Eagles Schedule: Cowboys Most Expensive, Rams Least Expensive Home Game
(TiqIQ/CBS) - With the 2014 NFL schedule released and the 2014 NFL Draft finally here, the new NFL season feels like a reality, rather than a mirage. The Philadelphia Eagles are one of many teams that look to be on the rise, as they aim to pick up where their momentum left off in 2013 after finishing with a solid 10-6 record and a division title.
Nick Foles will need to prove he's the legit future of the franchise at quarterback after a stellar showing a year ago, and his presence combined with the rest of head coach Chip Kelly's explosive offense will surely do well to get Eagles fans in the seats of Lincoln Financial Field.
After the success of last season, Eagles fans have an increased sense of optimism for 2014. Below is a breakdown of the eight home games on the 2014 Eagles schedule with the secondary market average price, according to TiqIQ.
Week 1 - vs. Jacksonville Jaguars | Avg: $239.13 | Get-in: $80 Above/Below Avg: -3.77%
The season and home opener collide on the Philadelphia Eagles schedule to start the 2014 season, as the lowly Jaguars come into town. Naturally the price dips a bit from Philly's season home game average of $248.51, as Jacksonville isn't a very tough opponent. Still, fans are actually getting a major steal with this kind of value, as it's the season/home opener and a likely win.
Week 3 - vs. Washington Redskins | Avg: $280.33 | Get-in: $128 Above/Below Avg: +12.80%
RG3 and the Redskins come back to Philly in the Eagles' first NFC East battle on their home field in 2014. This has the potential to be quite the explosive battle, while DeSean Jackson's return to face his former team for the first time is going to be quite the headline. It's about 12% more expensive than Philly's average home game, and understandably so.
Week 5 - vs. St. Louis Rams | Avg: $196.89 | Get-in: $83 Above/Below Avg: -20.77%
Philly's third home game of the year comes against the Rams. St. Louis will feature a loaded defensive line set on disrupting Nick Foles. This will be the least expensive game on the Eagles schedule, almost 21% below the season average.
Week 6 - vs. New York Giants | Avg: $255.06 | Get-in: $116 Above/Below Avg: +2.64%
Eli Manning and Big Blue comes into town for the Eagles' second home division game of the year, in what should be a pretty closely contested battle. These two actually matchup quite well, especially with the G-Men beefing up their secondary to contend with all of the passing weapons in the division. For a heated division contest, Eagles fans are still getting a fair price at just 2% over their home game price on average.
Week 10 - vs. Carolina Panthers | Avg: $226.12 | Get-in: $85 Above/Below Avg: -9.01%
Cam Newton enters the city of brotherly love as the Panthers will try to upend the Eagles in Philly on a Monday night. Carolina offers a very tough matchup thanks to a steadily rising defense and Newton's ability to win with his arm and legs. It's a show stopper matchup that could yield plenty of fireworks, making it quite the value buy at 9% under Philly's home game average.
Week 12 - vs. Tennessee Titans | Avg: $218.12 | Get-in: $66 Above/Below Avg: -12.23%
The Philadelphia Eagles schedule gets light on November 23rd, as a very beatable Titans team marches into town. Jake Locker isn't the most formidable opposing quarterback for Philly's maturing defense, while Tennessee also has a transitioning defense. Look for Nick Foles to pick them apart and return excellent value with this one being 12% cheaper than Philly's normal home game.
Week 14 vs. Seattle Seahawks | Avg: $272.92 | Get-in: $114 Above/Below Avg: +9.82%
Without a doubt, the Eagles' toughest game of the year, they'll be tasked with trying to dispose of the defending Super Bowl champs here in early December. LeSean McCoy will have to get hot early to keep the Eagles with the upper hand in this one, but no matter how it turns out, fans are paying just 9% more than usual to witness a potentially epic home battle.
Week 15 - vs. Dallas Cowboys | Avg: $304.23 | Get-in: $119 Above/Below Avg: +22.42%
Easily the Eagles' most expensive home game of 2014, as Tony Romo and co. enter Philly in an effort to put an end to their now yearly late season slides. The Eagles will hope to be putting the finishing touches on a stellar home record and possibly a division title, as well. Regardless of where these two teams stands, it'll be every bit worth the price, as a potential shootout looms.
