20-Vehicle Crash Along I-76 Leaves Traffic Backed Up For Hours
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An accident involving at least 20 vehicles shut down a portion of the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) in Montgomery County for several hours Saturday morning.
While the snowfall is beautiful to watch and even fun to play in, you have to be extra careful on the roadways across the Delaware Valley were littered with accidents Saturday.
It happened just before 8 a.m. Saturday in the westbound lanes at Gladwyne.
"I've been trying to get to work since eight this morning," Jarek Brockington said while stuck in traffic. "This is ridiculous."
Frustrated drivers crawled along the schuykill expressway after there was a 20-vehicle crash in the West bound lane, near the Gladwyne exit.
Officials say at least one person was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
"That's really awful," said driver Leah Turner. "I can't believe that."
"I'm really praying for them now because that's really crazy," added Brockington.

Following the I-76 crash, traffic was backed up for miles leaving many stuck for hours.
Melissa Goudey of Philadelphia told Eyewitness news she had only been sitting in traffic for 30 minutes when we spoke with her.
As the back up grew many vehicles chose not to wait and decided to drive the wrong way on the on-ramp to escape the wait.
"We were like we can't stay here much longer, we gotta go," said Loren Leyes.
Loren and Leland say they cut their plans to play paintball short.
"We saw one person crash into the median and turn around on the highways, said Leland Skelton. "We didn't see it happen, we saw the aftermath."
Leah Turner also had trouble driving, "It's really like slippery."
"The snow is just so powdery," she said. "It's just like you just kind of glide on it."
"There's snow on the ground but it's also really cold so you gotta slow down and use your instinct and not driving so fast," she added.
At least two other accidents also were reported along westbound I-76. One at the Conshohocken Curve and another at Gulph Mills.
