2 Wounded In Shooting Outside Atlantic City Casino
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) – Two people were hospitalized after being shot near an Atlantic City casino early Tuesday morning.
The shooting happened at about 1 a.m. at Michigan Avenue and The Boardwalk near Bally's Casino.
According to investigators, the incident began as a fight between approximately 15 people. Police say nearly 100 people were near the brawl. As officers were attempting to break up the crowd, a suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire.
A 17-year-old male from Vineland and a 22-year-old male from Bridgeton were wounded in the shooting. The 17-year-old was shot in the left leg and the second victim was shot in the upper chest.
The 17-year-old victim was treated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and later released. The 22-year-old was also taken to AtlantiCare and was still being examined early Tuesday morning. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police say the suspect fled the scene after the shooting. A gun believed to have been used in the shooting was located at the Bally's bus terminal.
