2 Teens Charged with Robbery in Connection With Incident at Wilmington Park

WILMINGTON, Del., (CBS) -- Wilmington police say they have arrested two teens for robbery in connection with an incident at a park in August.

The initial incident occurred on August 29th around 7 p.m. at Kosciuszko Park in the 600 block of South Franklin Street.

Police say two victims, ages 24 and 32, were sitting in the park when two juvenile suspects allegedly assaulted them and robbed them of their cell phone. Police allege the suspects then sexually assaulted the victims and fled.

According to police, the suspects knew the victims and targeted them.

On September 12th, police arrested the two teens, ages 14 and 15, who were initially identified by investigators as the suspects involved in the incident. The 15-year-old was charged with robbery 1st and conspiracy 2nd. The 14-year-old was charged with conspiracy 2nd.

Both juveniles were committed to the New Castle County Detention Center.

The sexual assault charges are pending review by the Attorney General's office.
