PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A man and woman have been sentenced for their roles in the kidnapping, robbery and beating of a man who was lured to Philadelphia from Wilkes Barre in 2008.
The man received 30 to 60 years and the woman got 10 to 20.
A third defendant was sentenced earlier to at least five years.
Prosecutor Jill Fertel says defendant Jennifer Konopki, an escort, lured the victim to a house in the city and co-defendant Joseph Holmes attacked.
"He's immediately pistol whipped, knocked to the ground, a hood is place on his head, he is handcuffed and physically carried down the stairs where he is hogtied to a chair and beaten and terrorized," says Fertel.
She says the victim was threatened with death, and as the defendants tried to clean out his bank account - going from ATM to ATM - another unidentified man who was supposed to be watching him let him go, probably saving his life.
