2 Pit Bull Brothers Placed with Delaware County Couple

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. (CBS) -- Two once-abandoned puppies, one mostly blind, have found their "forever" home in Delaware County after their plight went viral on social media.
Jermaine and Jeffrey, two pit-bull-Laborador-mix littermates, have a special bond. The pair was pulled back from the possibility of euthanasia by Operation Ava, a no-kill shelter in Northern Liberties, which first got them healthy and then put out the word about these inseparable siblings.
Veronica McKee of Springfield, the eventual adopter, heard from a friend about this matched set of pooches that needed to stay together.
"She saw the Facebook post and the video and sent it around to all her friends, and I saw the picture and I thought what everybody else thought: that's the cutest thing I'd ever seen, and I realized that, despite their special needs, we could nurture that bond and provide them with the environment they needed," McKee says.
Thousands inquired about the pair and some auditioned.
"When I saw Jonathan and then Veronica with Jeffrey and Jermaine, we just knew it was the right fit," recalls Operation Ava CEO Claudia Gutierrez.
The dogs have joined Veronica and husband Jonathan at home with 13-year-old cat, Blabbus -- who might have an entirely different opinion of the newcomers.
