2 Philadelphia Teens Charged In Weekend South Jersey Crime Spree
CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) - Two teens are in custody in Philadelphia, awaiting extradition to New Jersey, where they face charges in a pair of armed robberies and a carjacking earlier this week.
The seven-hour crime wave starting Saturday night at the Patco's Woodcrest train station, where a woman was shot and robbed.
That crime was followed by a carjacking in nearby Lawnside and a holdup in Mt. Ephraim, in which the pair allegedly tried to run over someone during their getaway.
But a 15-year-old seen in the stolen car in Philadelphia on Tuesday night led authorities to alleged cohort Tyreek Thomas, 19, a South Philadelphia neighbor, who was arrested yesterday.
"We recovered the gun, we recovered some of the clothing worn in crimes that have some blood stains on them. We'll be sending them to the lab for analysis," Cherry Hill police lieutenant William Kushina (photo) said today.
The 49-year-old Cherry Hill shooting victim remains hospitalized.
Now, the teens face a long list of charges topped by attempted murder.
