2 Medical Marijuana Firms Planning To Locate In Burlington County, NJ
BURLINGTON COUNTY, N.J. (CBS) - It appears that South Jersey's two state-approved medical marijuana licensees both plan to set up shop in Burlington County.
New York-based Compassionate Sciences has an application pending before the Maple Shade zoning board to open a dispensary in an old furniture store on Route 73.
A hearing on that motion is set for next week. Township officials are more than a little reluctant to discuss the idea prior to that.
Then there's the Compassionate Care Foundation, with offices in Mount Laurel, which has been looking for months for a site to set up shop. They seem to have settled on a onetime factory in Westampton, where the marijuana will be grown, processed, and doled out by prescription. No need for a zoning variance there.
It's thought that, barring some legal problem, they could be up and running early next year, as New Jersey finalizes regulations.
