Woman Critically Injured In Hit-And-Run On Roosevelt Boulevard
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who critically injured a woman in North Philadelphia.
Authorities say a 49-year-old female pedestrian was waiting for the bus on Roosevelt Boulevard near Garland Street around 11 p.m. Saturday when she was struck by a dark colored van in the city's Feltonville section.
Police say the operator of the vehicle initially stopped but then sped off.
The unidentified woman was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition. She suffered head trauma, a broken leg, ruptured spleen and internal injuries.
The vehicle has been described as possibly being a tan, 2009 Chevy Venture minivan. Police suspect that the van has visible front end damage.
