Arrests in Cherry Hill P.D. Parking Lot After Cops Notice Loiterers
By David Madden
CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- Police work is often a boring, tedious task, but there are occasions when offenders make it a little easier.
In Cherry Hill, NJ, police caught a man allegedly smoking a joint in his car while waiting for a friend. And, within the same two-hour period on Wednesday, two other people in a car who were wanted on warrants issued by other towns were arrested.
Why are we talking about such mundane matters here? Because all this happened in the parking lot of the Cherry Hill police station.
"Every once in a while, I guess, some unsuspecting person who has a problem forgets where they are," surmises Cherry Hill police sergeant Joseph Vitarelli.
And if they are that careless, Vitarelli says, "So be it."
The alleged toker was given a ticket.
One of the purported scofflaws was taken to the Camden County jail, the other released pending a court date next week.
