2 Firefighters Injured While Battling Queen Village House Fire
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Two firefighters were transported to Jefferson University Hospital after battling a fire in the city's Queen Village neighborhood Wednesday night.
It happened at a home in the 300 block of Monroe Street at about 6 p.m. Authorities say an elderly man was inside the home at the time of the fire and was able to get out safely.
The injured firefighters are listed in stable condition. Details on their injuries were not released.
Authorities say seven adults and two children were displaced due to the fire. Eight of the nine family members will be staying at the Red Cross House in University City for up to three weeks. The entire family was also given money for clothes.
The fire, which was placed under control at about 6:30 p.m., remains under investigation.
