Suspects Targeting Cars With Unattended Purses In South Jersey

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) – Police in South Jersey are searching for suspects who are targeting cars with unattended purses and wallets and then using their credit cards to make purchases.
Two female suspects are wanted for targeting cars parked outside the Future Fitness located near Route 70 in Cherry Hill.
According to police, the two female suspects troll the parking lot and look for cars that have pocketbooks and purses visible inside the vehicle. When the pair spots a purse/pocketbook inside the car, police say they break a window and remove the valuables.
Investigators say the suspects then use the credit cards obtained from the thefts at convenience stores and pharmacies throughout Camden and Burlington counties. The stolen cards are used primarily to purchase gift cards.
Police believe the suspects are driving a bronze/pewter colored hybrid SUV similar to a Nissan Murano or Ford Escape.

Two men are wanted for similar incidents that occurred at the Fitness on Dearborne Circle Mount Laurel. Police say those incidents occurred between 4:45 PM and 5:50 PM February 1 when the suspects pryed open the front doors. The suspects stole cash, credit cards, and personal identification documents.
Police say two unidentified black males used credit cards belonging to both victims to make purchases at the Cherry Hill Mall on February 1st. Surveillance video captured images of the suspects. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Mt. Laurel PD.
In Medford, police are searching for suspects who broke into six vehicles. Two vehicles were parked in the Sharps Run Plaza, two were parked in the Medford Center parking lot and two vehicles were burglarized in the Memorial School Parking lot. All of the burglaries, police say, occurred on January 31, between 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Police say windows were smashed and stolen contents included purses.
