2 Cousins Sentenced For Spraying Septa Bus With Gunfire Last August

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Two young men have pleaded guilty and sentenced for shooting up a Septa bus in North Philadelphia last year, an outrageously reckless and dangerous crime caught on tape.
Remarkably, none of the dozen people on the bus was injured.
Captured by eight cameras aboard the Route 47 bus, the video shows a group of men waiting on the corner of 7th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue.
When the bus stops, cousins Karon Patterson, 20, and Raheen Patterson, 22, open fire, spraying the bus with gunfire as trapped, terrified riders run inside the bus and duck for cover (see previous story).

"They intended to shoot up that bus, no matter what," says Philadelphia prosecutor Morgan Model Vedejs. "Nothing was going to stop them. So we were lucky enough no one was hit, that this isn't a homicide."
Both Pattersons have been sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison.
Four other people, including a woman who got into an argument with another passenger and allegedly made a phone call leading to the ambush, are awaiting trial.
