2 Children Shot On South Philadelphia Playground, Possible Retaliation

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Two young people are hospitalized after being shot at a playground in South Philadelphia late Tuesday evening.
The shooting happened at about 9 p.m. at the Sach's Playground located at 4th Street near Washington Avenue.
According to investigators, a 12-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to his right ankle and a 15-year-old girl suffered a gunshot would to her left thigh.
The victims were taken to an area hospital and both are listed in stable condition. Authorities say their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The shooter is believed to be a teenager who was seen running from the shooting scene. No official arrests have been made, but authorities say a teenager was taken into custody for questioning.
A gun believed to be used in the shooting was recovered in a nearby alley.
Authorities do not believe the two young victims were the intended targets.
It's believed the this shooting was an act of retaliation to an early incident, a police investigation is ongoing.
