2 Charged In Burglary From Home Of University Of Delaware Students
NEWARK, Del. (AP) -- Newark police say two people have been arrested on charges of burglarizing the home of two University of Delaware students and selling the stolen items on Craigslist.
Lt. Mark Farrall says the burglary was reported on April 4 at a home on Scholar Drive. Among the items reported stolen were a video game system, a laptop computer and a flat iron.
Police later arranged to buy one of the stolen items on Craigslist, resulting in the arrest of 29-year-old David May of Bear. Farrall says the second suspect, 21-year-old Melanie Sturgis, surrendered Tuesday. Both have been charged with burglary and two counts of theft.
According to court records, May and Sturgis were acquaintances of the victims.
