2-Alarm Fire At Warehouse In Kensington
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Drivers can expect some local detours near American and Cambria Streets in Kensington where an early morning two-alarm fire has heavily damaged a large warehouse.
The fire was first reported around 4 a.m. and a second alarm was struck almost immediately.
Several residents were temporarily evacuated as a precaution. They were all sheltered in a SEPTA bus.
There were no reported injuries.
Firefighters gained the upper hand just before 5:30 a.m., declaring the fire under control.
Salt trucks had to be rushed to the scene because of heavy icing in the nearby streets as the result of water run-off.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
