PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The City of Philadelphia held its 18th annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Love Park on Thursday evening.
Hundreds of folks from all over the city flocked to Love Park to see the City's biggest symbol of the holidays in all of its splendor.
The artificial tree is 38 feet tall, 40 feet wide and contains nearly 6,000 LED lights and hundreds of red and silver ornaments.
To ring in the holidays, the City of Philadelphia Municipal Choir sang Christmas favorites; there were dancers and a solo by one of the Jersey Boys. And to top it all off, the Mayor flipped the switched just after 6 pm to officially kick off the holiday season.
