$15,000 Reward Offered In Philly Takeout Slaying
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A $15,000 reward is being offered for information in the murder of a Chinese takeout owner gunned down in his northeastern Philadelphia establishment in front of his wife, who was holding their 8-month-old daughter.
Police said two masked males held up Jin House in the Tacony neighborhood at about 7 p.m. Friday. One of them shot 27-year-old Huang Xiang, who was pronounced dead at the scene (see related story).
Investigators said the victim was shot even though he told the robbers to take what they wanted, and they apparently fled without any money.
The city is offering the reward for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the slaying.
Only the night before, hundreds of merchants from across the region had met with authorities to discuss increasing crime against Asian merchants.
