This week's video list could be considered a study in contrasts, according to KYW's Bob Nelson.
Black Orpheus (above), a 1959 Academy Award winner as the best foreign language film -- as well as winner of the Cannes Festival's Palme d'Or -- brings the ancient Greek myth to the 20th century madness of the Carnival in Rio, in both the standard and Blu-ray editions.
At another extreme, "Looney Tunes" superstars Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck are hitting it big. There are 15 remastered Bugs Bunny shorts and 15 remastered shorts of the popular smart-aleck Daffy Duck which, not edited for content, make them better suited for adults.
Also out: The Last Song, starring Miley Cyrus, also on Blu-ray, and The Conversation, a new edition of Francis Ford Coppola's 1974 film starring Gene Hackman about a professional eavesdropper who overhears more than he should.
From 1969, look for Machine Gun McCain, with John Cassavetes, an impressive Italian-made gangster thriller.
And next week, Yoo-Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg, the history-making documentary about television pioneer Gertrude Berg, who created TV's first successful sitcom.
