113th U.S. Congress Sworn In; Boehner Re-Elected
By Jim Melwert
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 113th Congress convened on Thursday, with its newest members being sworn in. In addition, they also re-elected John Boehner as the Speaker of the House.
So what do Philadelphians hope to see from the 113th Congress?
Not much to live up to, as the 112 Congress is considered one of the least productive in the past 60 years.
Here are some of the responses:
"Regardless if you're a Republican or a Democrat, you just want to see these guys work together."
"Actually work, get stuff done. Bipartisanship that would be more than ideal."
"Balance the budget."
"You know you teach your kids to get along, but then you see politicians all vying for office rather than doing what best for America. It's frustrating."
Many say they expect that frustration to continue as many of the ideological disputes will likely carry over to this new Congress.
