PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police now have video and a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the armed men who shot and killed a man protecting his nephew during a robbery and then laughed about it as they fled the scene.
The victim was gunned down in the 3500 block of Hutchinson street in Hunting Park the night of January 9th.
Police Homicide Unit Captain James Clark says 23-year-old Alexander Martinez was walking with his 16-year-old nephew when two armed men approached them.
Video provided by Philadelphia Police:
Then, as the robbers were actually going through the pockets of the 16-year-old, the uncle got in between the robbers and tried to tell them to stop, and Martinez was shot in the chest, killing the heroic uncle.
After the shooting, Captain Clark says the killers were laughing and joking as they ran back to their pick-up truck and fled.
