Woman Killed In Wrong-Way Crash On I-476
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A 22-year-old woman is dead following a wrong-way accident on I-476 that closed the northbound lanes early Friday morning.
Police say a driver made a U-turn and started driving south in the northbound lanes around 2:30 a.m., eventually slamming into a boxtruck.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene while the truck driver suffered only minor injuries.
The Blue Route northbound near the Schuylkill Expressway was shut down for about three hours after the crash. All lanes are now reopened.
An investigation into the incident continues.
