Husband, Wife Killed In Burlington County Limo Crash
BORDENTOWN, N.J. (CBS) – A husband and wife on their way to the airport were killed when the limousine they were riding in crashed into a flatbed in Burlington County early Tuesday morning.
The deadly accident happened at about 4:30 a.m. along Route 130 south near Groveville Road in Bordentown, New Jersey.
Investigators say Monroe Danbury, 71, and his wife 68-year-old wife, Mireille, were riding in a limo to begin a vacation in St. Martin when it crashed into the side of a flatbed truck that was carrying two bulldozers to a nearby construction site.
Mireille Danbury was pronounced dead at the scene.
Monroe Danbury was initially taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and later transferred to the Capital Health Fuld center for treatment of his injuries where he later died in surgery.
The driver of the limo, 66-year-old Jesse Graves, was also taken to Robert Wood Johnson. His condition was not immediately released.
Officials say the couple, from Hightstown, had hired the limo to take them to Philadelphia International Airport.
The driver of the flatbed truck was not injured. He was released after speaking with detectives.
So far, no charges have been filed. The exact details surrounding the accident remain under police investigation.
