1 Dead After Small Plane Crashes In Lancaster County


EAST LAMPETER TWP., Pa. (CBS) - Officials say the pilot an Ultralight plane that crashed Saturday evening in Lancaster County is dead.

The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. at Smoketown Airport in East Lampeter Township near Airport Drive and Old Philadelphia Pike.

There's no word yet on the victim's identity or if there were any other injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Officials say Ultralight aircrafts are not required to register with the FAA, so further investigation could be turned over to local authorities.
