1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized After 2 Separate Overnight Shootings In Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are investigating two separate shootings that left one person dead.
The first incident occurred around midnight on the 5300 block of Hazelhurst Street.
According to police, a 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and torso. Police say the suspects, three black males wearing hoodies, fled on foot east on Hazelhurst Street and then south on 54th Street to Berks Street.
The second incident happened at about 2 a.m. on the 5100 block of North 2nd Street.
Police say one man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Einstein Medical Center.
There have been no arrests in either incident. Police are investigating.
