Wildfire in Burlington County, New Jersey fully contained
WOODLAND TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- A wildfire that was burning in Woodland Township, Burlington County in the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest is now fully contained.
The fire, named the "Acorn Hill Wildfire" reached full containment around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning in the area of Coopers Road.
The NJFFS said crews will remain on scene and continue to monitor control lines and address areas of concern until significant precipitation.
The public is also advised that smoke may be visible for an extended period while firefighters work to mop-up the wildfire. Motorists traveling in the area should remain cautious of smoke.
Trails and roads that were closed during the firefight are back open.
Several structures were threatened during the wildfire, but none were damaged.
It's unclear how the fire started.
Fire crews in New Jersey have been busy over the past couple of months battling wildfires all across the Garden State.
