Tim McGraw "swats" front-row, jean-ripping fan
Did Tim McGraw slap a fan? Not so fast.
The country star was performing in Atlanta on Sunday where a female fan in the front row got a little too grabby. In a video posted to YouTube, McGraw is seen striking the woman after she latches on to his jeans. Moments later, security swoops in to remove the woman from the scene. While headlines across the web were quick to dub the incident a "slap," a rep for McGraw says that it was a "swat" -- there's a difference!
"At the end of the night during the encore, Tim was singing out in the audience and someone firmly grabbed onto his leg and wouldn't let go as he was moving through the crowd," the rep told ET. "He instinctively swatted to try and keep them from ripping his jeans (which they succeeded at doing), and so he could get to more fans who were trying to slap hands with him before the end of the show. He didn't know who had grabbed him and was trying to keep his pants from being torn."
To be fair, his jeans were already pretty shredded (but probably very expensive). You can see in the video that McGraw is less than thrilled with the pants-ripping fan, gesturing with his hands in the air before continuing with the show.
What do you think about all this? Did Tim lose his cool or was he just trying to save his jeans? Sound off in the comments below.
