Young Man Shot, Killed Walking In Commerce City

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Commerce City are searching for suspects who gunned down an 18-year-old man Sunday night as he walked along a street.

The shooting happened in the 6500 block of Holly near the intersection of Holly and 64th.

Neighbors say that they heard gunshots and then saw a truck stop and backup. Someone got out and checked the victim, and then the truck sped off.

Police haven't released a description of the suspect's vehicle because they say there have been several different descriptions.

Friends say the victim, identified as Dijoun Quinn, 18, was a kind, caring person, who wasn't hanging out with a bad crowd or in any kind of trouble. He attended Adams City High School.

"He was never in trouble. He was always the smart one in the group, keeping people out of trouble," a friend said. "It's sad that we had to lose a friend like this."

Police say Quinn was shot several times and taken to the hospital where he died.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Commerce City police.
