Xcel Energy Crews Work To Restore Power After Severe Storm

DENVER (CBS4)- More than 10,000 Xcel Energy customers were without power at 9 p.m. Thursday after severe storms hit the Denver metro area. More than two dozen crews were working to restore power.

At one point, 28,000 people were without power after the storms hit Thursday afternoon at about 5 p.m. Those power outages were scattered throughout the metro area.

As of 8 p.m. about one-third of those had power restored, leaving 18,000 customers in the dark.

Xcel hopes to restore power to everyone by Thursday night, but it may be Friday morning before everyone has power.
